This Schaffer’s Mill residence exemplifies contemporary mountain architecture through meticulous craftsmanship. The striking exterior combines horizontal rooflines with natural stone, warm wood siding and dark standing-seam metal across multiple levels.
Inside, soaring vaulted ceilings feature exposed heavy timber beams and wood plank ceilings. The great room centers on a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with flanking cabinetry, while expansive windows frame surrounding forest views.
The kitchen showcases custom wood cabinetry, marble slab backsplash and waterfall-edge island, with clerestory windows flooding the space with natural light. A custom floating staircase with wood treads and vertical metal pickets serves as a sculptural focal point, while a spiral staircase leads to the dedicated bunk room’s lofted sleeping quarters.
The primary suite features a spa-like bathroom with dual vanities and an oversized soaking tub positioned to capture forest views. Practical details include a dedicated dog-washing station and an oversized garage designed to accommodate the family’s adventure van.
Outdoor spaces include a fully equipped covered kitchen, custom stainless steel spa, naturalistic water feature with stacked stone, and fire feature with surrounding seating.
