Local Contractors always look  forward to the annual CATT Christmas Party and Awards Ceremony  It’s an honor to be nominated by your competitors for these prestigious awards. 2012 was a good year for Mark Tanner Construction. We were selected for two awards,  Builder Of  The Year and Commercial Project Of  The Year.

We were ecstatic to learn that we had won the Commercial Project Of  The Year for the Railyard Building in downtown Truckee.

This is a signature project for us and Holliday Development.  The Truckee Railyard model unit was built in an infill location at the edge of the existing downtown to model the kind of thoughtfully designed, high quality construction that will seamlessly blend modern materials and styling with the historic western town context. An innovative approach and modern design are outstanding in historic Truckee, yet the building truly ‘fits’ into the space where it lives.

All of the award winners can be found on the CATT Website.  CATT, the Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe, was formed in 1998 by a few contractors in the Truckee-Tahoe region. These founders had two priorities: address the impacts of local agencies on the building trade and improve the overall professionalism within the industry. Over the years, CATT also branched out and created a 501(c)3 charitable arm, CATT Community Project, which focuses on building or restoring community structures, and CATTPAC, a registered Political Action Committee. Mark Tanner has been a board member and Chairman of this group.
