Animal enthusiasts and their dogs of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to take part in the inaugural Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe’s (HSTT) Tennies & Tails event happening on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. at the Truckee River Regional Park. Participants and their dogs will park (for free) and register at the Regional Park on Brockway Rd. in Truckee, and then they will descend the Legacy Trail to traverse a course set up along the riverfront trail. This event is not just limited to dog owners and their furry friends. In fact, the only requirement is support for the Humane Society—animal lovers without their pets, kids, families with strollers, young and old alike are all expected to come together for this feel-good community event.

Tennies & Tails will be comprised of two races. A three-mile run will commence at 9 a.m. and a one-mile walk will follow at 9:10 a.m.
